This offers a variety of special housing arrangements like reduced rates, provisions for deposits, and furnished units. The closest housing complexes are Harbor Point Apartments and Peninsula Apartments. Harbor Point offers 1 or 2 bedroom apartments as well as 3 bedroom townhouses. Peninsula offers studio apartments as well as 1-3 bedroom units. Both complexes are between 5-10 minutes walk to campus.

For students interested in a homestay accommodations, UMass Boston ISSP will liaise with a reputable homestay service in Boston. Homestay locations will be within reasonable proximity to the UMass Boston campus using public transportation. Accommodation will include living with a host family, breakfast and dinner each day, a furnished room, and access to public transportation. Monthly costs for Boston homestay are around $900 USD per month and may vary slightly depending on the placement.

You can move directly into your apartment as soon as you arrive.
You can talk to the student(s) living in the apartment ahead of time so that you can get to know your future roommates before you arrive.
Your apartment may already have furniture, just ask your future roommates what furniture they have.
Flexible lease dates. Speak with your future roommates to see when the lease ends! (This is ideal if you are looking for a lease that is less than 12 months).
